Connie A. Broussard is an accomplished employment attorney, workplace investigator, and seasoned litigator with more than two decades of experience in private practice and public service. At Angioni Law, P.C., Ms. Broussard represents employers in litigation, including class action, PAGA, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation cases and also advises employers on workplace investigations, employee relations, harassment and discrimination prevention, and compliance with California employment laws.
Before joining Angioni Law, Ms. Broussard founded Broussard Law, where she conducted workplace investigations and counseled and trained employers on management practices, unconscious bias, harassment prevention, workplace bullying, and developments in employment law. She also served on the California State Legislature’s independent Workplace Conduct Panel, a first-of-its-kind body responsible for reviewing reports of discrimination and harassment involving the Legislature. In that role, Ms. Broussard evaluated complaints, conducted fact-finding, and recommended appropriate responses. She also served as Acting Lead Attorney for Litigation, Employment Law, and Compliance for the Obama Foundation.
Ms. Broussard previously spent fourteen years with the California Attorney General’s Office, where she served as a Deputy Attorney General and Supervising Deputy Attorney General in the Civil and Criminal Divisions. Her practice included employment litigation, administrative mandate proceedings, health quality enforcement, criminal appeals, writs, and trials. Ms. Broussard served as senior or lead counsel in twelve jury trials and seven administrative hearings, obtaining favorable results in eighteen of those nineteen matters. She authored more than ninety appellate briefs, argued before the California Courts of Appeal and the California Supreme Court, and successfully opposed a petition for certiorari before the United States Supreme Court.
In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Broussard has extensive experience conducting internal investigations and training employees and supervisors throughout California. She developed and presented statewide programs addressing diversity, inclusion, unconscious bias, management practices, and effective litigation strategy. Ms. Broussard has also served as an adjunct professor of Constitutional Law and Criminal Procedure at Fresno City College.
Ms. Broussard earned her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School, where she was a Loyola Law Scholar, a member of the Dean’s Honor List and Moot Court, and an officer of both the Women’s Law Association and Black Law Students Association. While in law school, Ms. Broussard served as an extern to the Honorable Lawrence J. O’Neill during his tenure serving the Eastern District of California. Ms. Broussard earned her Bachelor of Science with distinction in Social Psychology from Park University, after completing her first three years of undergraduate studies at UCLA. Ms. Broussard is also an Association of Workplace Investigators Certificate Holder (AWI-CH).
Ms. Broussard has been recognized for her professional accomplishments and community leadership, including selection to the Southern California Super Lawyers list from 2019 through 2026 and recognition among the Top 100 Black Attorneys in California. She has served in leadership positions with numerous professional and community organizations, including the California Association of Black Lawyers, the State Bar of California’s Council on Access and Fairness, the Earl B. Gilliam Bar Foundation, the Fresno County Bar Association, and the Fresno County Young Lawyers Association.
